The Nationals WA believe affordable housing is important for people living and working in regional WA.
Our Affordable Housing initiative will deliver increased affordable housing options for key workers in regional WA. The overarching objectives of the project are:
- The provision of affordable options to purchase and rent property targeted at key workers in the regions.
- Delivery of a wide range of housing types into the marketplace with a focus on one and two bedroom dwellings.
- Supporting private sector development in regional areas to grow local businesses.
- Increasing the number of households living in regional areas.
In line with the Affordable Housing initiative is our Social Housing project that will provide housing for most priority waitlist clients for social housing by targeting those most in need – i.e. seniors, and families with dependent children.
The Nationals WA support increasing suitable housing stock to attract and retain government workers in our regions. The Government Regional Officers Housing (GROH) supports regional police, teachers and health workers. It is vital high accommodation standards are available to government employees across regional WA.
