The Nationals WA, in Government, will invest $4.5 million to establish a state-of-the-art Narrogin Emergency Services Centre, delivering a purpose-built facility to co-locate emergency services and strengthen regional emergency response.
Deputy Leader of The Nationals WA and Member for Roe, Peter Rundle, said the new centre will house the Narrogin State Emergency Service (SES) and Narrogin Bush Fire Brigade Volunteers, reinforcing Narrogin as a key emergency services hub for the region.
“Co-locating these vital emergency services in a modern facility will enhance response times, improve volunteer training opportunities, and strengthen community safety— especially during major incidents,” Mr Rundle said.
“Regional emergency response relies heavily on volunteers. This dedicated centre will provide a well-equipped, centralised training and operational space, ensuring our volunteers have the resources they need to protect our communities.”
Mr Rundle criticised the Labor Government for failing to act on this critical project, despite three years of calls from the Shire of Narrogin and local residents.
“The Shire of Narrogin has done the groundwork, developing a business case, completing extensive cost analysis, and securing key stakeholder support. This project is shovel-ready, yet the Labor Government has ignored the community’s calls. The Nationals WA are stepping up to make it happen.”
The new facility will boost collaboration between emergency service organisations, improving efficiencies in resource-sharing, training, and facility maintenance.
The Nationals WA are proud to deliver this project as part of their broader $76 million investment in regional emergency services, which includes funding for local governments, fire stations, and SES facilities across Western Australia.
“This investment is about ensuring our regional communities have the emergency services infrastructure they need now and into the future.”
