While I’m saddened that the federal Coalition has reached this point, David Littleproud and our Federal Nationals colleagues have the full support of The Nationals WA.
This decision follows a strong result for the Nationals at the recent federal election, an election in which the Coalition overall did not perform well.
It is important to note that this decision has no impact on the relationship between The Nationals WA and the WA Liberal Party.
The Nationals WA continue to have a strong working relationship with the Liberals here in Western Australia and remain absolutely committed to collaborating in the best interests of Western Australia.
Our focus is on working together to present the strongest alternative to the Cook Labor Government.
Decisions about the structure of the working relationship in Western Australia are matters for The Nationals WA, not for me to determine as Leader. Those conversations will continue in the months ahead.
Right now, we are laser focused on holding the Cook Government to account and ensuring the voices of all Western Australians are heard and represented.
