A meeting of The Nationals WA State Council on Sunday evening has formally endorsed Paul Brown, a former State politician and prominent voice in the Keep the Sheep Campaign, as lead Senate candidate for the 2025 Federal Election.
State President Julie Freeman said that Mr Brown is a strong advocate for Western Australia who has tremendous drive and the capacity to take commonsense to Canberra.
“Paul is a passionate campaigner and has garnered enormous support from his work as an Upper House Member of Parliament and as a Leader of the Keep The Sheep movement.”
Mr Brown said that he is grateful to the Nationals for the opportunity and is looking forward to taking on the challenge of getting a better deal for Western Australians.
“Western Australians have had enough of Labor’s neglect and dodgy deals. We need a government that will get back to basics and fix the fundamentals.”
I’m proud to stand up for our regional communities and rural industries, and I won’t back down when Western Australian livelihoods are at stake.”
Federal Leader of The Nationals David Littleproud has welcomed Paul Brown’s number one spot on The Nationals’ WA Senate ticket for the upcoming federal election.
Mr Littleproud said Mr Brown has been a great advocate for the ‘Keep the Sheep’ movement and is standing up for the farming and agriculture industry.
“Mr Brown will make an enormous contribution to the Senate and to Australian politics, joining the fight against Labor’s terrible decision to phase out the live-sheep export trade,” Mr Littleproud said.
“The Nationals stand proudly with the Keep the Sheep movement and are proud to have Paul Brown on the team.”
Paul Brown was a Member of the Legislative Council from 2013-17 and gave up his upper house position in 2017 to run as The Nationals candidate for the Legislative Assembly seat of Geraldton.
Mr Brown joins the campaign trail with Mia Davies MLA who is The Nationals Candidate for the Federal Seat of Bullwinkel.
