The Nationals WA want to keep Western Australia moving and to do that we need roads, rail and ports – both air and sea – to continually improve.
The Nationals have held the transport portfolio in the Federal Government for years and have in the past held it in the State Government. We know how important it is for people and freight to move freely and safely through our State, keeping us connected to each other, interstate and internationally.
The Nationals WA are the party of big infrastructure projects that drive real economic development for our State and we will deliver large scale projects in government to keep WA moving.
Regional airfares
Flights from Perth to regional WA are among the most expensive in the world and without the luxury of public transport in most of the State, air travel is considered an essential service. Air travel to regional destinations in WA is far more expensive than most in Australia, which is already the 12th most expensive country in the world to travel by air.
We believe in fair fares for all to ensure our essential workers can get around our vast State, patients requiring specialist care can get to appointments, encourage regional tourism and keep our communities connected.
Our vision is to work with airlines and across government sectors to bring down the price of air travel for regional West Australians.
